Let’s Be Friends Award!

It’s been a long while since the last time I updated this blog.  I just got caught up with a lot of shitty stuff and buzy buzzy things in life.  This time I just have to make this post the “Let’s Be Friends” award,  shared to me by Ckcramer of Raise Good Kids, Quadmama of Got Quad’s and Shannonf of Busy Working Mom they all have a very interesting parenting blogs which a new parent like me would learn from them.  Thanks a bunch guys for thinking and including me in your list of awardees.  I appreciate thought.

The criteria for the award:

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to those bloggers who must may choose at least 5 more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

I guess almost all of my blogger friends in this blogland already recieved this award, so I’ll keep it to myself lol.

Nice Springy Weather!

Published by dubster under weather Edit This

untitledcopy.jpg

Is it spring yet!? Yes it is. I am so freaking tired of winter, cold, windy weather whatever. Even if spring was already here we still had this cold weather. Last weekend the weather was windy, it was okay but the wind made it cool. Yesterday and today not bad but still cool for us. Well I guess starting tomorrow its going to be good as in good as you can see in our 5 days weather forecast, though it might rain but I don’t mind rain as long as its not cold and it will get better the next day. I hope it will stay like that or make it high numbers so everybody is happy. I know we all love to have a nice weather for our kids to be able to play outside and enjoy the day instead of trashing our place inside and fussing around because they are bored. Now that we are going to have a very nice weather coming, we can relax and play with our kiddos outside. I do not know about the weather in your area, I think it’s also nice or better that what we have here. I just hope this would be the real spring and beginning of a beautiful day.

We Need a Washing Machine

images.jpgMost households here in the US albeit has its own washing machine. I grew up having one but only a washer no drier since we had and open back yard where we can hang our clothes. I can see how important a washing machine in this place, maybe others they hang their clothes outside but for sure not all of the people doing it especially who have a huge family and big loads of laundry everyday. With our situations, we are just renting an apartment, so no place to hang the clothes and of course we are not going to do that around here. The problem with the place we rented is, since the very day we moved in here, their washer gets broken a lot. And sometimes the drainage gets clogged up that made your clothes filthy. My hubby has been doing our laundry in other place. It is a hassles and tiring job for him to carry this huge bag of dirty clothes and bring them to the laundry machine place, and a waste of electricity ironing the clothes because it gets wrinkled inside the bag. I pitied hubby for doing jobs on the weekend, it supposed to be his day off from work. I can’t do the laundry in other place because I don’t know how to drive yet and I have Jake to take care of. We can’t buy a laundry machine while we are still living in this apartment for a lot of reason; one is no more space for that. We just have to have more patience doing shitty work every week in other place, until we move out from this apartment. We are already looking for a good washer and drier to buy by the time we move to our new place this July.  We are sick and tired with all the craps in this apartment.  We are not looking for an expenssive washing machine, just something durable and affordable with good quality.

Drunk on Good Friday

Published by dubster under Family and Friends Edit This

People all over the world are observing the Holy Week. There are some maybe who  don’t believe in holy week or fasting during lenten season, but I do as a catholic. My hubby he is not a catholic but he is still christian. We just have different way of observing lenten season. Back home I used to go to church, listen to the sermons and the readings, do my station of the cross with my friends and pray. Since I am here I don’t have anyone who join with me to pray so, I did it on my own. On the other hand my hubby he is doing his own celebration. For him its vacation, its time to buy some beer and get drunk. I let him get drunk because he is not doing this everyday. I let him celebrate the 5 days holiday and this is just a one time opportunity for him to drink. He is been working hard, even if he is tired from his overload class he still take the tutorial after class to have extra money. Like I said this is just a one time pleasure for him to release whatever stress from work. Hope you all guys have a happy easter.

Winter In Spring!

Published by dubster under weather Edit This

nov-28-044copy.jpgWhen the winter was over I was the first person jumping with glee for no more cold and freezing temperatures.  I could come out from my hibernation and finally enjoy the day outside with my little buckaroo.  Last week the weather was great, and we spent a lot of fun time at the playground.  I have been sharing with all of you here about the walks that we’ve had and the fun times that we’ve had outside.  Now our happy face has turned to a frown, when we heard last Monday from the news that the weather is going to be bad again, and yes it was really bad.  For a couple of days, we got some snowflakes and cold weather.  It seemed like we were back to winter time here, and so we pulled those winter coats out of the closet again.  Winter stinks!

Affordable Groceries

Published by dubster under Economy/Economics Edit This

Is anyone out there into ham?  When I was a kid, I really didn’t like it, but as an adult, I have developed a genuine appreciation for it.  With our family budget being a little smaller these days, we have been looking for ways to cut down on our grocery bill.  Well, there is my new found appreciation for ham.  You can go to your local grocery store and get a big ham for fewer than thirteen dollars.  We bring it home and cut it in half, put half in the freezer, and then the half we keep in the refrigerator lasts us for about 2 weeks!  Then we’ll change it up for a few days, and then we defrost the other half.  All together, we eat for almost a month on that ham.  Sure, sometimes we are kind of sick of it, but with the money we save, we can afford to eat at Wendy’s once or twice in between the ham fests.  I’m not suggesting that you change your diet to one that only includes ham, but I am suggesting that it is a cheap way to get your family fed.  Happy shopping!

Expecting a Girl

Published by dubster under pregnancy Edit This

image013copy.jpg

Yes!!! it’s a girl. Last month we had our sonogram, and much to our delight, we found out that we would be having a baby girl soon. Hubby and I talk before that after this pregnancy we will not going to have another baby. With our dying economy so tough to raise a kids and beside we are getting old. With jake alone we almost running out of energy watching him and play with him. We are so glad to found out that we are having a baby girl. Our family is complete now 1 boy and 1 girl soon. Jake still young to appreciate his little sister in my tummy coz he just ignored us everytime we talk to him about having a little sister, even during the ultrasound he wasn’t that interested to watch the monitor instead he fuss and took a nap. I think it will change once the baby is here and he will be 17 months by that time.  This pregnancy is not as bad as before, I don’t get a lot of nausea and morning sickness. But with this pregnancy I gain weight pretty much and start feeling some backpain and fatigue. The doctor said the baby is doing good and everything is good and normal. When I gave birth to jake I only had 6 hours labor. I wish when its time for the delivery I won’t go into a long labor with this little one.

Sunday Walk

Published by dubster under Playtime, outings Edit This

Weekend is always great, you spend time with your family, hanging out without worrying anything and take a good rest. Today, the weather is ridiculously awesome, we take a very long walk like more than 3 miles walk around the neighborhood to the park. Plus this place is mostly hills, uphill/downhill every street. First we went to the Ritas to have some cool refreshing gelatti and custard. Then walk around going to the park. We have two parks which is close in this area we live in. The one park ismore on kids, family park and its closer to our place and the other one is kind of far from our place and its more on leisure, exercises activity park. You can different people walking, running, biking, playing doing their own way of getting fit. And one neat thing with their playground is its not crowded because in every turn of the park there is a little playground for kids. It a big park, good for walking and jogging. So we walk down there, itwas a really long walk for us three, well jake is in his pushing car but he was tired with the bumpy road along the side. When we got there, he just wanted to get out from his car and play with the equipments in the playground. We had fun even if it was a tiring walk but in a good way. It was a good exercise for me and hubby and at the same time jake got to see different environment. When we head home jake was so exhausted that he was seating like a slob pig in his car hehehe. He just went right away to his second nap and it last for more than an hour. Walking is really helpful and a good exercise to stay fit and healthy.

Grilling out

Published by dubster under Family and Friends Edit This

I love the taste of grilled hamburgers.  Tonight we went over to a friend’s house, and we grilled hamburgers in the backyard.  Not too many meals compare to that fresh grilled taste of the meat with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on top.  We’re moving into a house soon, and it has a really nice and big backyard.  We will most certainly be doing a lot of grilling out this summer.  In addition to hamburgers, I like grilled ham, fish, and of course chicken.  I like grilling out for other reasons too.  Anytime that the weather is good enough for grilling out, people seem to be in a better mood, and if you have friends over for the cookout, everyone is quite festive, and everyone has a really good time.  I’m looking forward to this summer as my husband has promised that there will be an abundance of grill cooked food.
